Feedback certainly helps; however too much search for feedback will lead you splintered, and not yourself. Too much feedback is "static" like that static when the radio is picking up too many stations. The question you ask is dealt with by nearly all persons, and is covered quite well by "What You Think of Me is None of My Business" by T. Cole Whittaker.

this is a measure that you do subconsiously to protect yourself
when you seek other peoples views of your self you change the way you act... why becuase you've been emotionally hurt
so instead of being your self you act and in doing so when somebody tries to cut you down it doesn't really hurt becuase that really isn't you that they're cutting down.

Eh, 50% will think you are good, 50% will think you are bad.
You just have to find the 50% that think you are good and stay away from the 50% that think you are bad.
(They are hard to find.)

YOU DONT.= theirs a saying ==TO EACH HIS or HER OWN. Think of others if you will, but dont worry about others or what they think. Just listen and think for yourself.

who knows. why would you care what others think about you? as long as your not out there starting trouble and making a scene, who cares what they think. they don't pay your way i life, you do.
