Everyone has reccomended this bike to me, but I'm worried that 250 wont be enough power. Our highway speeds are 70 miles per hour, and I'd still like to be able to overtake easily. Will this bike handle that?

First of all, how big are you? I'm 5 feet tall and the VTR is good size for my first bike [I ride a CBR 600]. So you should definitely take into consideration how big you are. If you are bigger, you might look into a Ninja 500R, which is also a great bike and is a bit bigger. The VTR should be able to get you to 70 miles an hour, but its going to top out, most likely, before 90. You should also consider what kind of riding you will be doing. I enjoy riding just for fun, ie. cruising around town with friends. My boyfriend also likes to cruise, but he stunts as well, so he likes 600 cc bikes. I enjoy the CBR for cruising, and I think you should consider getting at least a 500cc bike [the Ninja I suggested is pretty much the only one out there right now, but its an excellent bike]. Having the extra 250cc's will give it a little more power, and will get you to 70mph with ease. Good luck!

If youre going to ride the hwy at 70 all the time I'd say no. The vtr will go just about 100mph, but it doesnt overtake very well over 70. Ripping around up to 80mph can be fun on this little bugger, but it takes a bit to get above that plus its spinning really fast at that speed.

I think its better to have a Karizma 225cc than to have HondaVTR250. I hope you got my message!!
Bro if you wanna go for some superbike than have one, don't compromise yourself for some somilar stuff and yes its the power that matters... In my openion you should go for not less than 600cc.
tc.
