The Mavs have an excellent chance to win it all. Reason being they have some "unfinished business" from last season. Donnie Nelson did Avery Johnson major justice when he not just rebuit and reloaded the roster, but with what kind of players he did it with. 9 out of the 10 players on the roster not only have playoff experience, but NBA finals experience as well. If you have a group "that's been there before" that's a huge upside. The Suns are a great team, don't get me wrong, but they're just an injury away (i.e. Steve Nash's injury) from a losing streak. Now during this current winning streak, the Mavs haven't been blowing away people. They don't have to. Whether you win by 1 or a 100, a "w" is still a "w". And during the streak even the Mavs had some people injured (Devean George, Greg Bucker, and Josh Howard) 3 of their best perimeter defenders. They have a 50-9 record and they don't even have a FULL ROSTER. DJMbenga's out for the season, and they traded away Anthony Johnson to the Hawks for a 2nd round pick. Everybody talks about the superstars, that's fine and all that, but what will you do when one get into fould trouble? Or even worse, goes out in an injury? Even with 13 players, the Mavs have figured this out so far. And once the playoffs start does anyone with 1/2 a mind think that any team's going to come in and win any of the games in a 7 game series? I doubt it. When you're on a streak, you learn how to win differently, whether it's a blowout or a close game. That's the biggest difference between last years version and this years version of the Mavs.

The smart money would be on yes for a team that's 50-9. When it takes a team nearly 60 games to lose 9 then really you know they're something special. They have all the pieces to make a championship team, a great coach, a very talented leader in Dirk and swingman in Josh Howard with a lot of dedicated and talented role players. Not only that but they have a massive chip on their collective shoulder for losing the finals last year.

Anything can happen in the playoffs but as it stands right now if I had 50 bucks to bet and wanted to win I'd go Dallas (though i wouldn't get much money with the odds)

No, the could could make it through an particularly difficult western convention with accessible conferences with the spurs or the suns. And in the journey that they make it previous that they are going to likely could stand both the Miami warmth, Chicago Bulls, or Detroit Pistons, all communities that are able to thrashing Dallas in a 7 activity sequence. And if Wade returns to form that can make it much more durable for the Mavericks.

As long as Dirk, Howard and Terry stay healthy, they will have a big chance this year. Out of the three, Howard seems to be the one with most injury and he is still recovering. He did play well in recent games but he is vulnerable and he is the key player if they want to win the Championship. Don't get me wrong, Dirk is the best player in the team but like the old Bulls, Dirk is like Jordan (of course different position) and Howard is like Pippen. You must have both to win! It was unfortunate last year they lost in the Finals.

Hell Yes, but i don't really want them too, because they won too much games they should at least let some other team to win the NBA Championship this season.

I am not a serious NBA fan, or a bettor, but I WOULD put money on them taking it all this season. Only a serious injury could derail them. They are very motivated, exceptionally well coached, & they remember what they gave away last season.

Dirk has been driven this season & will come thru as the leader when the chips are down.

I don't see why not. They have a deep team, great defense, great offense, the ability to run any style of gameplay, a personal drive to avenge last years letdown, and an MVP in Dirk Nowitzki who you KNOW is not gonna let Dwade ridicule his leadership this summer. Any loss would be an upset, though there is never a guarantee.

NO, they are fundamentally sound and well coached, which is why they are doing so well, but they lack physicality, a dominate big man, and most importantly, heart. Dirk is a great player and gets my vote for MVP this year but I don't think he can carry them through 4 rounds of playoffs. If they end up playing Denver in the first round that will take alot out of them, especially if they end up playing the Suns. They just aren't deep enough or physical enough to survive.

they have a fantastic opportunity too with the way theyre playing....if they keep it up and are injury free i think its almost certain...will a team find the answer to beat this team 4 times in the playoffs????

based on experience in the playoffs i think the real danger comes from the Spurs, Suns, Pistons and POSSIBLY the Heat
