HDTV stands for High Definition Television, and it's a broadcast system with a high resolution and to work, you need a HDTV ready TV set (most Plasma and LCD TVs are HDTV ready) and a TV station that broadcast using HDTV.

HDTV - High Definition Television is a higher resolution type of TV that gives a better picture. However, the programming must also be broadcast in HDTV in order for it to work.
