Most likely they will end up with the 1st or 2nd pick and either way they can't go wrong with Durant or Oden. Whichever player they get will be given credit for turning them around from a worst to first story. Other players will deserve much of the credit too. The Celtics had injuries to Paul Pierce, Tony Allen, Theo Ratliff, and Wally Szczerbiak.
Tony Allen was really coming into his own after getting a shot with Pierce out. Allen averaged 19.1 ppg 5.9 rpg 2.8 apg and 2.7 steals a game over a 13 game stretch from Dec.15th to Jan. 10th (when he torn ligaments in his knee). Obviously Paul Pierce makes a difference When the Celtics return to the court next season it will be a #1 overall pick (most likely) Pierce, Allen, Al Jefferson, Szczerbiak, and Gerald Green with another year under his belt.
The Celtics are ones to watch out for next season. I expect to see them exact a little revenge.

Not at all. They are young, missed Paul Pierce for 25 games, and Danny Ainge wants them to lose. Al Jefferson is one of the most promising young big man averaging 15 and 11. Delonte West, Ryan Gomes, Rajon Rondo, and Gerald Green have also emerged as promising young players. They just struggled without leadership. Danny Ainge was overwhelmed with the thought of getting the first pick in the 07 draft, especially when he saw the talent of Kevin Durant and Greg Oden. Ainge is a weasel like that.

basically the celtics are a young team that surround a superstar player in paul peirce. becomes paul went down wit an injury, the young players had to pick up the slack and perform well on nightly basis. without a superstar out there, it stops the young players from having leadership and guidance. also makes it easier for opposing teams to defend u....no longer do they have to worry about a guy who can put up 20-30 points.
the plus signs from this season was the good play of tony allen before his season ending injury, and of course the arrival of the real Al Jefferson.
look for the Celtics to play reasonably well now with Paul back in the lineup....next year with a healthy team they should perform better. they definitely have some solid young talent out on the team....but still nowhere near title contention

Not quite...but they're not very good either. Injuries, especially to Pierce, really messed up any chance they had at wins. However, The moves they made this summer were pretty atrocious anyway. Telfair is worthless, he needs to go to the D-league and maybe he'll do good there. Delonte West should've started from day 1. The improvement of Jefferson and next summer's 1st or 2nd draft pick will put them right back on track though.

They have had a lot of injuries and their GM Danny Ainge wants to try to get Greg Oden or Kevin Durant.

I would have to say yes. Paul Pierce, whiel still a hell of a player isn't getting any younger and with him being inured much of the season, coupled with no one to help him out on the floor it's no wonder they scuk this year.
