First of all Kryptonite is a very rare element. If you were able to get your hand on any green K a bullet might not be the best use to kill superman.

You would probably have only enough Green K for one bullet and contrary to popular belief shooting someone is not all that easy. How steady is your shooting hand? A bullets trajectory, if off even one degree, can place that bullet several feet from it's intended target. (depending on distance to target)

Also, unless you know what you are doing your home made green K bullet would shatter as soon as you fired it from a gun.

But lets say you were able to overcome the ballistics problems, good luck getting a clean shot off at Big Blue! Supes is constantly flying around saving folks and most likely would not offer a good target besides, with his super senses he would see or hear the bullet looooong before it would get near him do do any damage. Does the phrase faster than a speeding bullet ring a bell?

This is an excellent question. I wish people would ask questions like this more often.

The answer is that it would hurt Superman but it would not penetrate his skin. As a matter of fact, people have tried it before, several times. Each bad guy thinks he is the first to think of it, but they all go down.

What happens is this. The K hurts Superman. It gives him radiation poisoning and hurts incredibly, it starts working instantly. Eventually, the radiation will build up and kill him if he can’t get away from it.

So the trick is to get it near him and prevent him from getting away from it. If you just run toward him with a chunk of K in your hand, he flies away. (plus, he burns your hand with his heat vision, so you have to drop the K, and he has the police pick it up and put it in a lead box so he can get rid of it.)

So the whole point of a Kryptonite bullet is to get it to Superman fast, so he doesn’t have a chance to fly away. Yes, he’s faster than a speeding bullet, but he can also be thicker than a brick; he is so used to standing there and letting bullets bounce off him, he might not think that he wants to avoid getting hit.

So the K bullet hits him and shatters into fragments. How can you find them all and get rid of them? Not unless he already had a big lungful of air to use his super breath. Then he could blow the K particles away. Otherwise the best that can be done is to drag him away from the area and hope that none of the K particles stuck to his skin. Sometimes that works.

The best Kryptonite trap I ever saw involved grinding Kryptonite into dust and mixing it with spray paint. The bad guy sprayed it on Superman and it stuck to him so he couldn’t wipe it off. I think someone had to pull his costume off so he would not die, and then he had to clean it by dipping it into a cauldron of molten lead, which the K rays could not penetrate.

Ever since Crisis on Infinite Earths, when they rebooted the DC universe and changed a lot of things, Superman’s invulnerability has changed, too. It used to be that he was just too tough to hurt. Now, they have a sort of force field (they don’t call it that, but that’s what it is.) Ma Kent said, “I noticed when he was a boy that clothes next to his skin never seemed to get torn or dirty.” That’s why they had bullets bouncing off his chest but the cape getting torn and shredded every so often.

So, now the spray paint trick would not work, because it would drip off his force field and not stick to him. Oh, well, if we want to kill Superman, back to the drawing board!

Kryptoninte was hard to get, but as for the bullet idea, its fantastic, even superman couldn't stand up to a kryptonite bullet.

That might work. coz kryptonite is the only thing that can harm Superman badly. maybe you should build more like knife, swords, staff, rockets, and anything comes from kryptonite.

But that would be very hard to get...

That's one of the failings of all supervillians they never think that the simplest solution is the best

the worst for this are Lex Luthor, and Arcade, who has never managed to kill anyone
