You can do that or you can check with your local community college, they usually offer degrees in firefighting. Cival Service is another way to go if you can pass the test. Or just volunteer for a small town fire company. Good Luck, we need all the fire fighters we can get!

Go for it if that is what you feel is the thing to do!!! It doesn't matter what others may think of your decision!! You are the one that has to live with it either way!! Yes, any military experiance looks good on all resumes because it shows you have some disipline in your life and that is what a job wants!! Now you can show you have that in your life without going to the military, but it all depends on YOU!!!! P.S. There are many jobs in the military that don't put you on the front lines, that is only if you are a grunt!!!

It most definitely outweighs that. Firefighters are trained professionals. They start out in all walks of life. Ask yourself this: What if I didn't come home??? How could I hope to use military experience on a resume if I was wounded and came home disabled???

Please don't get me wrong. If you want to join the military, by all means, discuss it with your family and friends and go for it. But... don't do it for a job resume. Do it for the right reasons, if you're going to do it, okay??

you do no longer choose college to be a firefighter. super metropolitan departments have their own practise academies for brand spanking new hires. i could think of militia firefighter journey could be advantageous. the federal government, ie, Forestry service, etc. additionally has hearth combatants employed decrease than the civil service courses and you get a 10 component decision for being a vet.
