I am trying to find a website that will really tell me why conservatives are conservatives. I want it to be accurate and as mud-slinging free as possible. I am trying to find a balanced view here on issues and I have a few sites that may seem more liberal leaning that I enjoy reading. Trying to find a few that maybe can show me that conservatives have some good ideas too? Thanks guys

here's the trick... and it happens on both sides...
even if it is "fact checked" that doesn't exactly mean it's correct...
I can give you a long list of "facts" about hitler that may make him look like a pretty good guy, cited, factual... real facts... as long as I leave out some of the other "facts" that make him look like a genocidal maniac...
often web sites, on both sides, leave out key pieces of the whole picture while giving actual real facts... they just don't paint the whole picture... I would suggest to you that you look on both sides... and the truth will probably be somewhere in the middle...

I'm sure you've seen this, bu it is the only thing close to what I think you want. It is from Berkeley but don't let that dissuade you - the lead author is from Stanford Business School - where Condi Rice was the head a while back.

Go to the websites of other countries, because you _won't_ find rational explanations on US websites. The conservative party in Canada are nutballs by Canadian standards but Barry Goldwater conservatives in US terms.
The fascists in the US today are neither fiscal conservatives nor social conservatives. They are reactionary ideologues and _corporatists_.

Sorry, but I looked, and all I found were professional spin doctors who go to Europe every year to forget their problems.

You are going to have a hard time finding this. I suspect answers with sites are going to be very slanted to.
