The SI on a racket stands for Swing Index, it is a measure of how long a stroke with backswing that this racket was designed. The 6.0 you refer to is the measure they use for their scale. Wilson uses this scale with a rating of a 6.0 has the user take a longer and faster stroke through the ball. A racket on the other end of the scale such as a 6.7 or a 7.0 would require a shorter backswing and more compact stroke for the racket. This measure is based on the size of the sweetspot of the racket along with the rackets' overall weight and balance-- head light vs. head heavy. Think of the rating as the same as the recommended tension range only it applies to backswing and swing speed. To put it simply, it is the manufacture's recommendation for the racket.
