You can have 1-2 cups of coffee a day. Any more than that is not usually recommended. Some fish is okay, but stay away from swordfish and those type fish as this contains higher levels of mercury. 1-2 cans of tuna a week is also okay, but is not advised to take more. If you get constipation, it is not recommended to take laxatives (unless recommended by a doctor) but diet high in fiber or fiber supplement, and stool softeners. Laxatives are just too harsh and can cause dehydration. Tylenol is okay, and suedophed is okay. Aspirin and Advil are not usually recommended. Of course with all of these make sure you ask your doctor. He/she may also have a list of okay medicines to take during pregnancy and what should be avoided. Excercise such as walking, swimming, pregnancy yoga, pregnancy pilates and those type excercise is okay. I think my biggest recommendation is to try not to look at pregnancy as an illness and you can do most of the things you did before you were pregnant. Of course alcohol, cigarettes etc, shouldn't be done if you had did them before, but in gerneral there are not alot of things you shouldn't be doing. :) Let me guess first time mom? I am as well. It is good to be concerned with what is happening to your body and baby, but just remember to eat as healthy as possible and live a healthy lifestyle. Congratulations, and try not to worry too much (I know easier said than done). Oh, also avoid deli meats and hot dogs that are cold. If you do choose to eat them, make sure they are cooked until steaming. This could cause listeria if they are not steamed. Sushi and raw meats can have bacteria so you need to avoid it as well. If you have a cat, make sure you do not clean out the litter box. This can cause toxoplasmosis and is dangerous for baby. If you are the only one who can do it, make sure you wear gloves and wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after changing the litter box.

too much tuna, the mercury content is bad especially in albacore, raw or undercooked meats. This includes deli meats like boars head and sushi with the raw fish in it. Unpasteurized soft cheeses and other unpasteurized dairy. Diet soda sweetener aspartame has minimal harmful effects. Avoid herbal teas, some can cause contractions and preterm labor. Also nail salons have bad chemical vapors in the air. a cat box is not bad as long as you had the cat BEFORE you got pregnant. Don't go and get one while you are pregnant. Coffee is not that bad as long as you enjoy it in moderation, one or two servings a day, depending on how much you normally drink. You would not want to go through caffeine with-drawls while pregnant.

You should only have 1 or 2 caffeine drinks a day up to 500 ml I believe. You should avoid undercooked meats like medium and below. Do not touch kitty litter. Avoid all OTC drugs unless your doctor says it is ok. Do not lift anything over 25lbs. These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. A pregnancy book like "what to expect while expecting" can also help you with all of this, plus they are fun to read. Good luck to you.

I agree with what they said. I would also like to add hot dogs, lunch meats, & bacon because of the nitrates in them. Herbal teas, especially peppermint and red raspberry leaf can cause contractions. Artificial sweeteners(nutrasweet, aspartame, equal, etc.) should be avoided also--many chewing gums contain this if they are sugar free.

It sounds weird, but cat poo is very bad for the baby. If you have a cat keep the litter box isolated, get someone to change the litter. It can cause Toxoplasmosis (hope I spelled that right)

Certain medications. Make sure you check with your Obstetrician before taking anything questionable. A fairly good list is at the below link. Good luck!

Aspirin, running, caffeine, mental and physical stress, tight clothing, chemical inhalation, over the counter and recreational drugs, sleepless days and nights. Do take extra good care of yourself. Eat right and walk at a moderate pace. And I hope you have the most beautiful baby in the world.
