While Endo is a leading cause of female infertility and pregnancy loss, when properly and effectively treated, most women with Endo who want to have a child, can have a child. The best way to deal with Endometriosis-related infertility to is to have the disease truly removed through excision. Disease that is superficially ablated, vaporized or otherwise left behind will continue to thrive and cause pain, infertility and other symptoms. See an Endo specialist for additional help and info. Endometriosis is one of the most common gynecological problems women have, and is the third leading cause of infertility. What effect it will have on your ability to get pregnant depends on how badly you have it and if it is sucessfully treated. The sooner you actually go see a doctor and get treated, the greater your chances for eventually getting it under control and preserving your fertility. You can do a lot of research on the symptoms and treatments on the web- there are loads of good sites with the information you are looking for. Once place you can start is www. nichd.hih.gov
There are also support sites, research sites, etc- all that can give you the answers you want and info you need. But the first step you need to take is to make an appointment with a gynecologist for an exam and diagosis to see exactly what the problem is. It may not be endometriosis, it could be something else. It could be something easily corrected, and even if it is endometriosis- the soon you do something about it, the better off you will be.

Good luck with getting answers to this quest. this late at night. I asked about a mammogram and have gotten no answers. Try during the day. I can only tell you that endometriosis is where the lining of the uterus forms on the outside of the uterus instead of the inside. I have heard there are very painful menstrual cramps also. In the past many women with this condition were infertile but perhaps there is hope now. See a good GYN. Good luck.

I have read alot about Endo, because I suffer from this horrible illness. I was a happy story because I was able to carry two children to term and now have healthy children. As for your question the only person who will be able to tell you if you can have children would be your doctor. Endo can cause infertility and other health problems. Your post doesn't mention if you have been seen by a doctor or what treatments you have under gone. If you google search it or go to Yahoo health, you will find ALOT of usefull information.
Good Luck

Yes, women with endo can still have children. Best way to improve your chances is to have a laparoscopy to confirm that you have it and make sure that the dr cleans out as much of it as he/she can. Best time to conceive after a lap is 6 to 12 months after the surgery.
My next door neighbor had a lap to check a cyst she had and while in there the dr found some endo implants. He then removed them and about 3 to 6 months later she got pregnant with her second daughter. The little girl is about 4 or 5 years old now.

Hi there, I was diagnosed with endometriosis approximately 9 years ago. Doctors removed one of my ovaries and gave me zero chances of conceiving. There are things far greater than the knowledge and "expertise" of humans. Lo and behold i am now a proud parent of a stunning 4 year old daughter. She is very healthy and normal. Never ever believe that u would not have children. Personally, i think the more u worry about it and stress that u wont have one, that's when it wont happen. Forget about it and carry on with your life as normal and one day u will be surprised. Never give up hope and be strong.

See a good doctor as soon as you can. Endometriosis is one of the leading causes of infertility, but if caught early, your doctor can remove most if not all of it using an outpatient surgery called a laproscopy... he will make a few small tiny cuts and insert a laser/camera if he sees any ick, he will zap it. Scars are almost non existant from this procedure, and as I said if caught early enough, will not affect you being able to have babies.
Good Luck!
