No, I don't think they are to blame. It's like that woman that sued McDonald's for making her fat. No one forced her to eat there! Give me a break. Kids just need to learn at an early age to eat in moderation. Female, obviously.

I'm a mum. I have two kids. I don't think fast food commercials are responsible for the high levels of childhood obesity, it's up to the parents to get a bit of common sense into them and not allow their children to consume such high amounts of fast food.
We are turning into too much of a nanny state, where we want to place the blame for our own misgivings on someone else, usually television commercials, (obesity) the police (high crime rate or road deaths), or some other department. It's time we took responsiblity for our own actions. Look after yourself, don't expect someone else to do it.

No they are not to blame.
I know that I am not the only one that takes my kids to McDonals either! I have seen the full playlands! I take my kids there and they are not the least bit obese.
If anything is to blame it is the ammont of TV that is available to them 24/7 I remember when I was young there was only a certain ammount of kid geared shows to watch now there are several channels of 24/7 kid shows!
Kids would rather sit in front of the TV and eat their happy meal than go play after they finish it....THAT is the problem!
I am female by the way

No. I don't believe that they are. I feel the reason for childhood obesity is parental guidance. Not enough of it that is. But there are also lots of factors. The FDA allowing growth hormones in a lot of the foods we eat now a days, for one, and parents not monitoring their child's eating habits. Another is children are just not getting the exercise they need due to television, computers, video games, and the like. There also may be medical reasons for some of the children. Lot's of reasons for it, not just fast food places.

I don't think that the commercials are solely to blame. Some of the blame should also be pointed at the parents after all they are the ones buying the Macs etc. because it is convenient.

Nooooooooooo, since i moved out to Las vegas. I've seen more out here on T.V, then when i lived back in Michigan. Seems like there's way more fast Food places to eat, the commercials are SO not to blame. I don't run out every 15min to run to one,no re does my kid simply because she doesn't care for junk food. And even if she did, it wouldn't happen. That's just a lame excuses, because people have no control and its so easy these days to put the blame on other's..............

I am female and I don't think that Fast food is to blame or at least not the only reason. I think that video games and television and school's not promoting healthy living and choices have a lot to do with it to not to mention the fact that the school curriculum's don't offer as much physical fitness as they should. And I think parents need to take responsibility also children learn by example.

No one can blame fast food commercials on obesity, it's a mindset and hivemind, however, precocious puberty is on the rise at dramatic rates.

Yes; but it is the parents responsibility to provide healthy alternatives to the fast food and fatty goods offered in those commercials. Also; allowing your child to veg out in front of a TV or computer all day and not getting them actively involved in sports is only adding pounds to a child..
