India beat Pakistan by 8 wickets. Set to score 177 runs India scored 177/2 in 47.1 overs. Shastri scored 63 NO and Srikant scored 67. Shastri was declared Chapion of Champions for his alround performance in that series.

The 1984-85 Benson Hedges World Championship final was played between West Indies and Australia. In the 3rd and last final played at Sydney Cricket Ground on 12.02.1985, West Indies beat Australia by 7 wickets.
