How is this possible? 42% is rather high!

That's probably the same statistic of college students who care what Lindsey Lohan ate for breakfast. This is a superficial country. Only people who turn off E! and pick up the newspaper would know this.

I didn't look at the video but does it indicate the date? He's very popular now but six months ago, 1 year ago...much less so. I've heard about him since he was first elected but it's true many young people don't keep up with these things. I remember reading a while back about a poll done at Harvard or one of the other Ivy League schools and a high percentage didn't even know who all represented them (2 senators and 1 representative) in Congress. Of course they could all probably tell you 50 cent's latest hit.

Why would anyone know who Barack is? I have no idea who this foreign guy is either and am not the least bit ashamed to admit it. Guess I just don't watch enough C-Span or something. If anything I'm surprised that statistic isn't higher than 42%.

They heard there parents grip about politics for years growing up.Therefore,they are turned off by it.They also don't care because they feel the person they want in office won't end out there anyways.Plus there to busy hanging with friends and supposedly studying.
They also feel the country is going to hell anyways.
