Sachin completed his first 1000 ODI runs in the 32nd match of the 1992 world cup against Zimbabwe in NewZealand, when he scored 81 runs.

This was his 36th match. He did not bat in two of these matches, and was not out in 5 other matches. So that makes his average 1075/(36-2-5) = 1075/29 = 37.06.

If you want to be more specific and calculate his average immediately after the ball in which he got his 1000th run, it was 35.71.

Here's a link to Sachin's innings in all his ODI matches
