I wouldn't be too concerned, seeing as you have only had 3 periods, you don't have much to go on as to whether they are heavy or not.
If you are going through more than a pad or tampon an hour, then you might have a problem, but otherwise pretty normal.
Your second day is likely to be the heaviest and the most painful as far as stomach cramps goes.
There is not much you can do to stop them, take some painkillers and take it easy. A hot water bottle on your tummy can help too. I found that when I was younger, I would get wicked cramps, so bad I could barely walk some days, but I found that they improved after I have my first child.
Talk to your mum :) thats what they are there for.
And if painkillers don't work on the cramps there are special pills etc that you can buy at the chemist.

It is not normal. Please see a board-certified gynecologist for this not someone at Planned Parenthood.

(I have nothing against PP but believe you should see an expert in the field of female reproductive health in cases like this.)

It might be a caused by a fibroid tumor. We all have those, so just try to relax until you see a physcian. Keep track of exactly how heavy your flow is and how long your periods last. This will help your physician in determining the cause, okay?

There can be a few reasons for heavy periods. SInce you are still young it could just be your hormones are not quite settled into a routine yet. But a visit to your doctor will give you a little peace of mind. if you are SOAKING more than a pad on hour you need to go to an emergency room right away.

I had the same problem since I was 11yo. I finally got my doctor to put me on loestrin fe birth control. It is a low hormonal pill that essentially tells my body not to use so much blood to create my uterine lining. I now have a period for about 3 days and its super light. I love it. It'll make most of the cramps go away too.

Could be a sign of a hormone imbalance or something like endometriosis but only a dr can tell you for sure.

only 3rd period ???? i always had long periods but i did get to where they were extremely heavy. went through pads and double tampons every hour or 2. then had huge clots and labor-like pains to pass them. after d&c and extremely strong birth contorl meds i finally had a hysterectomy. i was only 30 yrs old.

See a doctor... don't look for advice on a website. And avoid sneezing while standing on a carpet.
