I am not suicidal so don't give me the life is worth it bit -

My question is this - It is my life isn't it ? Who has more right than me to say "You know I've had enough?"

Oh yes my death may emotionally harm someone but I am going to do that sooner or later any way - old age will creep up if nothing else -

The god bit - who is god to tell me that I have to stay on the planet under the conditions that I may find unaceptable - I don't choose to believe in god - so why should I have to worry about your god's opinion ?

I just don't get why suicide of all things would ever be considered wrong or imoral

Ok your suggesting that the only people who do commit or attempt to commit suicide are in fact mentally disturbed at the time - that they would never other wise do that ....OK

So is it impossible then to be in your "right" mind and decide to commit suicide - or is it completely impossible

Then it's not a moral issue it's a state of mind issue - That I could go along with

This down grades it from being "wrong" to being a bad decision

No I don't consider it wrong - I am not concerned with god's opinion(s) on the subject either - But a lot of other seem to have the impression that it is a moral offense I've never understood that opinion and am trying to figure out thier reasoning If they have any beyond a knee jerk emotional response

I will put the kettle on you tell god to pop round to the house and we can have a little chin wag about his or her opinions on the subject - Until that happens we will keep the imaginary gods out of the conversation if it's ok with you -

Produce god or shut up about him/her

In many cultures, aside from religion, suicide is considered weak and unhonorable. However, there are some that believe it to be honorable, such as the ancient Bushido rights of the Samurai.

However, today, very few (if any) of those cultures exist, and now suicide is about politics and political correctness. If you commit suicide and no one cares about it (for ex. gov't) then many more people could commit suicide and the control of power looks weak. Suicide is the only uncivilized human act left that can barely be prevented (even love is restricted).

Honestly (And I am with you, I am Athiest as well) suicide is totally OK with me. I wouldn't want anyone to do it, but if they believe that it is their only choice, and if they have at least tried to do otherwise, it is a person's very own right to end his/ her own life. For the better of other people and in order to cause less ruckus about it, it would be smarter for those who are suicidal to commit death upon themselves quitely and privately, and certainly not publically.

what's incorrect if suicide is considered as irrational? We people have forgot that "irrational" isn't synonyms with "incorrect". Rational would not potential proper, irrational would not recommend incorrect. Its merely the case of logical and not logical. thoughts are no longer logical yet they're the reality, they're what we experience. Rational shouldn't replace right into a manner and the stupid human lots shouldn't make it yet another trend like technology the place they make it constrained. The Universe isn't a rational place, in basic terms people are rational, and people who're no longer ruined with the help of society and its classes are nonetheless delicate in irrationality. paintings isn't rational, is there something incorrect with the paintings? What has rationality given us? Its good interior the sector of technology yet its no longer mandatory that actuality lies in the two of the factors.. those issues is all our ideas made cycle and we are working the race.. ideas instructions physique reacts.. and in between we watch.. we are our very own slaves. Suicide is neither rational nor irrational

If you don't believe in God then why do you think it's wrong? Because other people tell you it's wrong? Make up your own mind....Really.....Think about it......Do you think suicide benefits anybody unless the person is in EXTREME PHYSICAL PAIN....Not MENTAL PAIN. It is your life but I believe life is not made to be just ended whenever we decide we had enough. You are a coward and a sad individual if you think suicide is an answer. And maybe that was supposed to happen so you wouldn't spread your defeatist mentality to the world....

There are situations where people may have something to gain by a person suiciding. Like some sick bast\rd that has a lot of money. His family might want to "push him over the edge". That would be immoral although in some situations it could be compassionate.

I see suicide as... weak. I see it as someone giving up. Some people will kill themselves because they made bad grades. Who cares. Buck up and study harder. Others.. are in worse situations. But, in the majority of situations, I could find numerous reasons to live. I, personally, would have to be in a very extreme situation before I would kill myself. Like.. in some horror movie situation where I have to kill my best friend to live. I would only agree with a few situations in which suicide would be acceptable in my eyes.

just think about the people around you.. well, you are obviously upset about something. my teacher used to say, if you are upset, list down 10 good things that could rebut the thing you are so upset about. then, you'll simply forget about it.. i think..

the point is, if somebody commit suicide, his or her death will normally cause a disturbance. not in the opinion kinda way, you know, you can also make a bad impression. so you see? it is wrong. i dont konw why else.. it just is...

if you dont belief in god.. you do belief in friendship, dont you?

besides, a death means a tragedy.. i dont like it much. and oh ya! you'll never know it's enough until it is..

I agree with you. A few months back I was also wondering about this question and the answers most people gave me was:
1.Any act of violence is punishable. or
2.You did not create ur life. It was given to u by ur parents. So YOU dont OWN ur life. How can u get rid of something you dont own!
However these answers didn't convinced me.I am still looking for answers......

God gave you life, now why would someone want to give it back? Life is to short as it is, we all need to enjoy the little time that we have on earth. Suicide may not be wrong in some sisturation, if I had a termial disease and was in pain all the time, why not just end it all. I have nothing against anybody, but if I want to die, that is my business.
