You need to have games, you could probably research them on the internet. Also, for these games you need to have prizes for the winner and your wife will open a prize along with the winner. Many women do candles, dish towels, body lotions, etc. for these gifts. Some games we did at my shower were a word scramble, guess the baby food game, one that was kind of funny was all of the guests passed around a role of toilet paper and they tore off an amount that they felt was equal to how round I was. They then measured it around me and tore of the excess. The person closest to my actual size won.
Now I must note that you sound like a pretty incredible guy to be doing this for your wife, and I am sure she will love you more than ever for doing this for her.
Maybe you should make it a couples shower so you can be even more involved, I had one it was kinda cool.

Since you are a guy and are nice enough to do this for your wife, why not have a couples shower? Invite the spouses of the women who are invited. That way it can be a social event both you and your wife can enjoy.
This would also let you dispense with some of the more 'girly' shower plans. Games can be men versus women in diaper changing, dressing a doll, etc.
You might as well have fun at the shower too!
Even if you have to put up some of the funds, I'm sure you could get some of her friends to help with the actual party. It would take a load of planning off of you.

games are always fun. I went to a shower once and I'm not sure what the game was called but I'll explain how it works. You get somed diapers and melt different types of candy bars inside them. You pass the diapers around and everyone has to guess what kind of candy it is. Whoever gets the most rights gets a fabulous prize!lol It's a little gross but it's really fun.

Well, part of what you do is watch the mother open her gifts. It is good for you (or a trusted relative) to keep track of who gave her what so she knows what to write on her thank yous. A few games are always good-some quick examples:
1. Baby bingo. Give guests a 5x5 grid bingo board and have them fill in the spaces with gifts they think the mom will receive. They check off spaces as gifts get opened, and call out "bingo" when they have made a line-then they win a prize.
2. Toilet paper measurement. Pass a roll of toilet paper around and have each guest take off as much as they think will fit around mama's pregnant belly. Then they get to try their paper around mom and see who came closest.
3. Baby animals. Make a list of common animals and have guests try and fill in what the baby of each animal is called. For example cow/calf or dog/puppy. Throw in a couple of toughies to weed out the people who know their baby animals.
You can google baby shower games and get other ideas as well. You are so sweet to do this for her!

let me give you a great idea that we did at my baby shower. when you send out the invations put on the bottom to bring a pack of diapers for a a rafel ticket. you will need somthing to rafel off, such as money, a gift basket, a spa certificate. something in that nature. you will get so many diapers, and believe me that helps. what i did is, because people brang various sizes, and brands of diapers is just took them to target and got all the diapers monetary amount onto a gift card. i ended up not buying diapers for the first 4 months. that saves a lot of money.

The internet has many sites to find games....they play all kinds of silly fun games related to pregnancy or motherhood....like everyone cut off a piece of string they think will fit around the mothers stomach....everyone picks different then they all take turns trying to wrap their string around her stomach to see how close they are to the right size...very hilarious... If its coed..keep the games minimal..and just socialize, eat, drink and celebrate! Congrats on your upcoming child!

Be sure to buy some party gifts to be won for the guests.
It could be little things such as little photo albums, bath set, etc.
If you play two games have 2 gifts, etc.
Other than that, Just open presents, eat food, and have cake.

You need to get finger foods and punch. Get baby games to play. Like putting baby bottles, rattles, bibs, blanket, and other baby stuff under a sheet and let them guess whats under it without peeking they have to feel for it. Tell them to guess mother goose rhymes that they know.
