That's a very interesting but broad question. Most importantly, I think it will have the same kind of impact on society as Guttenberg's printing press. It's like having an infinite library in your own home. You don't have to just wonder or guess about things anymore. You can just look it up. To me this widespread dissemination of information and education is the best part.

The downside is that people who spend a large part of their day on a computer can become isolated from human contact. On sites like this there is an exchange of ideas among strangers, but I'm sitting at the computer, and my husband is watching a movie alone.

The biggest problem is that with every new technology there are those who will try to use it to do harm to others. You have to be careful.

Social implication of computer to the society is wide and varied-
- World has become flat
- You need not rely on your relatives, neighbours or society people for making frinds and companion
- you can think, act and behave truly global
- You can do global business easily
- Computer can be used for entertainment and fun
- PC can be the biggest source of wisdom
- Compter can guide you as godfather,
- Information and knowledge can be made available ay time and at any place
- You can send and access mail anywhere and anytime free of cost,
- There is no need to have big storage space for volume of information,
- It can work like TV, music system and post office
- Computer can analyse your data
- Computer can be used to create art

The lists are endless. Computer has very vast implication to society.

Great question! Positive - we've become a society that can perform tasks at much faster rates. We can do things that our predecessors only dreamed of. Negative - As we become more dependent on machines, we depend on other people less. What would society be without people depending on others?

The computer has revolutionized communications. It has made us a truily international cuture.

It also should release us from the slavery of the work place.

It is helping over come many disabilities, I am dyslexic and using a computer boosted my spelling age.

There is draw backs - the spell checker on here is Amarican not English
