A good idea I got from THE SEVEN HABITS OF TRULY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE: adults, particularly parents, have a tendency to see kids through the perspective of their own autobiography and to try to impose what they think are the lessons (corection of mistakes) they think they have learned from their own autobiography. This prevents them from observng and listening to the child as an individual and respondng to the individual child's own unique personality as it develops.

because if kids stay who they are...then we'd just have a bunch of kids eventually, and no adults. an adult has the responsibility to cultivate children...to help them become adults. this is a long process, obviously....and shouldn't be saved until the moment the kid turns 18. it's a process. remember, the moment you are born you start getting older.

because chlidren are children and they need to be taught how to act respectivly, appropriatly, ect.and eventually the idea is the children grow up and become good people. If children are not taught to behave and how to deal with attitudes they wont turn out to well. so you ask why dont parents just accept them as they are, well children have attitudes and behavoir problems, if they are left up to their on devices on the way to adult hoodhow long would it take them to grow up, if at all.

Because they are usually following crowds and going thru fazes. I refuse to accept my children acting like weirdos and dressing like freaks.
