....and I woke up feeling terrible, realizing that some day I'd probably have to face the reality of it. I'd spoken to her the day I had the dream. I used to dream my Dad had died when i was younger, but never my mom. I've gotten closer to my mom as I've started to grow up and now I live 3,000 miles away from them in a different country. Recently got married, bought a house and have 2 dogs and realize I never appreciated her enough.
What does the dream mean?

Probably your dream means that you fear losing your Mom. Most of us will face the reality of losing our parents someday. My parents are in their 80's & ailing & I fear it very much. They also live far away. What I do to ease my fear of losing my parents is to talk to them often, visit them when I can, and send them letters, pictures, cards. My kids know them from my stories, pictures, and they also talk to them on the phone often. When my parents do pass away, I will know I made the most of the time I had with them.

I'm not sure what it means but, I've had the same dream. I don't know how it happened, but my mom died in my dream. I woke up crying. Their literally were tears running down my face. I, too, realized then and there how much it would hurt me if she died and that one day I would actually have to deal with that. Perhaps it's my conscience reminding me to keep her close and cherish the time I have with her.

My family and I went out to dinner one evening, and on the way home I mentioned to my wife that I am dreading the night when we get a phone call about my dad. I have no idea what made me say that, we weren't even talking about him at all. That night, the phone rang, and it was my mom telling us that they were on the way to the hospital with my dad, and they didn't think he was going to make it. He passed away the next day about 24 hours after I made that comment. He was in fairly good health up until then also.

Dreams depict your fears, they are seldom predictions. So learn from the dream to sort out what is troubling you. Don't use them to trouble yourself.
