You cannot be everything to everyone all the time. Do what you can do and leave the rest. Be good for yourself and to yourself first and foremost. That is good for your husband, your children, your employer and most of all....you.

Mother? I can't answer that since my idea of good parenting is not having children in the first place. Wife? Just love your husband and yourself. Keep your commitment strong and your communication open. Accept that you won't always like your husband, but make the choice to always love him no matter how hard it may seem somedays. Realise, life isn't all happiness and you'll have rough patches married or not. You do not have to cook, clean or anything of that more than he does unless you stay at home of course! Your his partner not his maid and sex toy.

let's answer the easy one first; you are a successful mother if they HATE you! (they don't really, but that's what they say to make themselves feel better about rules); and to be a successful wife. well that would be so mundane, you know, picking up his socks, giving him blow jobs; washing his towels; cleaning the toilets........that's what makes them happy (although there is not a one of them that would admit that!)
