I like doing the touristy taking pictures, looking at art, etc., but what are some good cities with more than just that which would appeal to me and 4 other 18-19 year old guys (ie: nightlife, beaches, camping, etc.)? We do plan on doing the cliche staying in hostels and living out of our backpacks while hoping we can catch a passride flight and a train to be on time. I think some stops in the works are London, Rome, Amsterdam (cliche i know), and maybe Paris. Should be about two weeks and money, not including transportation if planned, should be an issue. Any ideas on stuff to do over there?

-Thanks,
A lost Texan

To be clear I just dont want to stick out as an obnoxious tourist so I can actually experience everything. I am not complaining about being cliche.

I would highly recommend Munich, Germany-- lots of museums & other cultural-type stuff, plus a pretty good nightlife-- can't forget the Hofbrau Haus!!

Transportation is pretty easy, and not expensive. You can get there easily by train (if you're hopscotching around Europe, definetly look into a railpass), and the local public transportation is cheap & very good.

Food & drink & etc. can be as cheap or expensive as you like-- shop around. Also, while not everyone speaks English, if you're polite, it's a very tourist-friendly city.

I was there last fall, had a blast....

i'm a Brit and performance visited u . s . two times and that i'm hoping to back next April. i imagine many American senior voters were to Europe and uk with their defense force. no matter if or not they have learnt something about uk and Europe is yet another count number via a undemanding isolationism time-honored with people. however having merely been to US on vacation i do not imagine i understand a lot about u . s . because as a vacationer you've a tendency to be properly possibility-free antagonistic to genuine united statesa.. i'm certain Us vacationers have a similar treatment in Europe and uk like the questioner from the words of his question i do no longer regard uk as Europe

If you're worried so much about everything being "cliche" then why don't you either stay at home or try going to Eastern Europe. Staying home might be too cliche as well, so maybe you should look into E. Europe. But maybe that's too cliche, too.
