I watched the news this morning where Merriel Hemingway authored a health book. Is she trainined in this area to publish a book? What/Who gives famous entertainers the ability to speak on issues they have no training or background in? They use thier postions to pontificate on nearlky every subject, of which they have no formal training and most of the time, they have less education the average american. Can we please tell these people to shut up, and stick to what they are good at? being overpaid to act like idiots in overpriced movies.

Well if they can use their positions to advocate on a social issue and bring more attention to it, I think thats great. While some may not know much about the issues, their are some who actually have world class knowledge of issues like Bono who knows more about poverty and problems in Africa than all of the politicians in America including the President! If they can use their positions to bring attention to issues then I'm all for it. I would also wager that they know more about the issues than you!

Freedom of speech. You have the right to rant, they have the right to write books. You have the choice to either read it or not read it.
