Hey, So my Science fair project is coming up on the 15th of March. My topic is:
"Do you have a blind spot and if so, how can you determine your blind spot?"

What should my hypothesis be? It needs to be easy because it's due on MARCH 15th. I know I should have done it earlier, but i had so much homework. If someone could help me out w/ a hypthesis, that would be great!
Here's a link to the website I got the project from. Click on the 3rd party website link. Thanks!

I think that humans have a blind spot, and this can be determined by doing a series of experiments.

there is a range that can be measured in degrees on the right and left hand side. A simply hypothesis is that the state of human periphery(eye focus) is not symmetrical and that the dominant eye causes a stronger focus because it demands more from the subjective eye. This ratio is equal to the dominant hand and subjective hand, but not directly. The brain uses two different areas to process this information.

However, if you measure the standard level of peripheral vision between each eye as a basis point, then during a one week trial, you also work on writing with the non dominant hand, it is believable that the subjective eye's peripheral range will increase because you have been working a different brain hemisphere because you have changed some activity where the dominant sphere was secondary. It is believed that the angle range will increase by as much as 15% within the first week's attempt to do this.

If you got that...Good luck.

Hypothesis: A tentative conjecture explaining an observation, phenomenon, or scientific problem that can be tested by further observation, investigation, and/or experimentation.

People have measurable limits to their peripheral vision that cause "blind spots" during normal everyday activities.

---your paper should contain examples of when the blind spot is important (driving, waiting tables in a restaurant, walking in the halls at school), and how to measure your own peripheral vision (look forward and extend your arms to either side, wiggling your fingers, and have a friend mark the point where you can't see the fingers anymore). ---

sounds like a fun paper and a fun experiment!

have a nice day!

Hi Bshook, That was great. Your blind spot is on your leftside,at least with me it is.Make posters of each test and have the judges do the test and they can see that your tests proves your point. It's simple and shows that you are right. Have fun at your science fair. Your tests were very cool. A Friend.

The hypothesis is what YOU think will happen. There's no right or wrong. Just write anything. Anything is fine.
