I got married when I was 15 and already had 4 children by 20. Was it hard. Extremely so. I wasn't pregnant when I got married but was pretty much pushed into it because my very young stepmother and father really didn't want us around and would pawn us of on any one. I ended up with two bad marriages and 7 children. My kids turned out all right. None on welfare, in jail or such.Very upstanding citizens. But don't think it was all bad for me. The hardest part was having the children going back and forth between me and their father. I went to college, got a BA, MA, PhD. Taught school for twenty years, did some administrative work and I am still taking classes. I went to a daughter's house for Thanksgiving. Her husband's Mother ask me if it wasn't about time I stopped going to school and got a job. I am trying, but only on my terms. You may be interested to know that I am listed in Who's Who in America, Education, American Women and the World. I guess you would have to call me a workaholic. I am afraid of relationships and have a thirst for knowledge. But the hardest part has been getting old and having to deal with so much pain. When older people are cranky it is probably because they are in pain.

As far as having help, mostly not. My mother-in-law told me that she had raised her children, and not to expect her to baby sit; she had just married her 2nd husband. She showed no interest in her grandchildren. My mother died when I was 9. When my children got older, then they helped the other children, etc. I had an aunt that gave me emotional support. My father ignored his own children, why would he care about mine?

I had my daughter two weeks after I turned 17. She was 3 months premature. Her father and I are still together, married now, with 2 more children. Financially it was hard as neither of us were working. Nobody wanted to rent us a place when they found out our ages and that we were expecting. But it was really a wonderful time in my life. We didn't have any help but we made it through. And I honestly think I was a better mother at 17 than I am now!!!

All the baby's I know of have been under the age of 18...males and females including my own...I don't think I'd want to try to have a "baby" that was 18 years old...too painful

I got married at seventeen and got pregnant at eighteen, but I didn't give birth until right after nineteen. My husband is only six months older then me. No it wasn't very hard and we both worked at taco bell! The worst part was my husband got a serious head injury and was in the hospital for a week, but we got through it and somehow got rid of a thirty four thousand dollar hospital bill. But as for being a mother I couldn't be happier. Some people were mad at me, but they got over it and everyone loves my son. My husband and I did it all together without outside help.

I had my son (who is now 7yrs old) when I was barely 16 myself. I have no regrets. The father was out of the picture when I was 7 months pregnant. It was hard but it was just as hard for me as any other mother. I had a lot of support from my parents. They supported me and the decisions I made. I'm still a single mother and confident that I'm a good one at that.

I was 18 and it was in my Senior year of high school. I went to prom 9 months pregnant. I didn't let anything stop me. I married his father and than we got a divorce. I am now married to someone else and he loves my son like his own. It wasn't always easy but I would never ask for anything different. My son is my life and I know now that god gave him to me for a reason.
