No its not wrong?
Why aren't they supporting your dream? Do you have a history of letting yourself down?
If you truly want something go for it, work hard, be patient, and it will come

Read the book "Do what you love and the money will come". Or, don't read the book, just follow that advice.

Millions of people get up every morning and wonder what would have happened in their life if they had followed their dream to do what THEY wanted to do, rather than what everyone else told them that the SHOULD do.

If you can't afford to start your own business, get a job with the best caterer in the area and work your butt off. Learn everything you can about the business. Offer to do extra things for the owner. Take classes on the culinary arts and business management at the local trade school or community college. Immerse yourself in it, stay focused, and make every catering job your best effort.

Ten years from now, you'll be looking back and thanking your lucky stars that you did what you wanted to do and you gave it your very best effort.

if you are more than 21 you could probably get a loan and do the things you want. You just have to decide. you cant wonder around like this and let outside influences you in a way you dont like it. So, it's all up to you. But, I dont see where the wrong side of it. When people dont support you, it doesnt mean what you are doing is wrong. It's your life and you are the one who can take charge, not them. So what ever you do in your life, there is always a risk. You can not expect to do the things you want to do and ignore people and yet you dont want to get problems. It's life, there is always a bump in a road, but thats only gonna make you tougher, so be confident!

You should always do what your heart wants to do. If you can't afford it then get another job to get you through cooking school, take a bunch of classes at a community college in business, research how to be a caterer online, talking to people in the field. Do everything you can to make your dream come true. If your family and friends don't want to support you then that's their problem. You should do everything you can to follow your dream and if they see how committed you are to it then they will support you.

hey I'm a caterer and it is hard work, and even harder getting clients in the first place. My advice is to go work for a caterer that can give you a ton of experience that will help you decide whether or not it's right for you. But the most important part is to realize that you have to ALWAYS listen to your intuitions and realize that you may or may not ever get support, but you have to do it anyway. You owe it to yourself, to at least check it out, it's your life!!!

This reminds me of my mother. I know u most likely don't care but I'm telling u anyways. My mom always wanted 2 be a teacher. She was smart and she knew what she was doing. She started dating my dad but still had the dream of someday becoming a teacher. My dad talked her out of it and now she's an appraiser. She enjoys her job but still 2 this day she tells me that if she had've done what she wanted 2 she would be a Literature professor. If u didn't get what I meant by this story I think you should go 4 it. Who cares what other people think? Don't let anyone talk u out of ur dream. It's ur life and u should make urself happy.

You don't mention whether you have gone to school for this or is it just "something I want to do"? I can't help you with so little information. It's not like finding a part or looking up a business, this is a life altering decision.

If you haven't already and you are serious, go to school. Then after you learn about student grants and loans, you can learn about small business loans and grants.
