Yes, its Obstruction...because someone lied and they had to investigate that lead, they took time away from finding the real perp.

It could be considered filing a false police report, which in itself is a crime.

However "pleading" guilty is not considered "admitting" to a crime.

admitting under oath? perhaps. It's certainly not a crime if the admission was due to duress.

I suppose it could be construed as obstruction of justice or perjury if uttered under oath. Otherwise, I think it is just a lie, which is usually legal.
