Wouldnt you be afraid that people would just write you off as a crazy person, and stick you in a nut house?

That is a pretty good question. Some miracles are for just you to know. Jesus often told people not to tell about the miracle because the miracles He was performing were for those with faith, for those who really wanted to know the truth and wished to have God in their lives. This was not to be mean, it was because anyone might "believe on God" if it means that they get cured. In reality, they might only want the cure. Jesus had a plan, He had a message, and it was to bring God's grace to the world.

Along those same lines, all miracles should show or demonstrate the grace of God ultimately. If you think you should tell someone, it should be for that very purpose, otherwise, even if it was a miracle, perhaps you have thrown it away. Sometimes being quiet about a miracle is wrong. That is what proof is usually for, if you can prove it, it is probably because God wants you to show it to someone.

If you can prove it, if you think God wants you to share it with others AND if you are simply too afraid, or too ashamed of Jesus to share it with others, then you might want to ask yourself if you would want Jesus to hide that fact that you are His from others.

If you do not believe in Jesus, then you (and everyone else) can know that this miracle was done as a sign for you, so that you might believe on Jesus.

If a real-life miracle happened to you, I suspect that it would be more real to you than your own life experiences, so I doubt you could keep quiet about it.

I would tell. Think about it, if a true miracle happened to you, you would not be able to keep it a secret and you would not worry about consequences.
