The C6 is the term for the 6th generation Corvette. The 1953-1962 is the C1, the 1963-1967 is C2, 1968-1982 C3, there was no 1983, 1984-1996 C4, 1997-2004 C5 and 2005-current C6. The C6 has a 400 h.p. LS2 engine and a 6 speed manual transmission. A 6 speed paddle shift automatic is optional. The coupe offers three option packages, 1LT, 2LT & 3LT. It has a removeable "targa" style roof. The convertible has two option packages 2LT & 3LT. The Z06 has unique body panels to allow for brake ducts and wider rear wheels. It has unique wheels and most important a 505 h.p. LS7 engine. It only comes with a 6 speed manual and is a fixed roof car, no targa top. It has two option packages, 1LZ & 2LZ. The Z06 has a unique exhaust as well. It has butterfly valves that open at 3500 rpm and lets the engine roar. The Z06 engine is hand built in Wixom, MI and that limits production. In 2006, just over 6600 were built. The goal for 2007 is 7500 cars. The base coupe has an MSRP of $44,995 and the base Z06 has an MSRP of $70,000.

Corvette has had 6 body styles since 1953. The C6 is the current body style of the Corvette. The next style change will be called C7.
The Z06 is a super high performance model of the Corvette with stiffer suspension, and special engine modifications. The current Z06 also has titanium parts for extra strength and less weight. The first Z06s were made in 1963...only 3 or 4 were made for racing. It was then discontinued until 2000? when it became available again in the C5 model. The Z06 is not available in a roadster (convertible).
The other Corvette models have an R after the body style...C5R or C6R. These are "racing only" models and are not street legal.

The c6 doesn't have that little air intake, like the z06 has. The z06 is more expensive, but they both have exposed headlights, in other words, no hidden headlights.

ZO6: 500 bhp and $73,000
C6: 300-370 bhp and more around $40,000-$50,000
the zo6 resembles the C6R race car a bit in appearance. mainly the wider fenders and different front bumper. other than that they are the same really.
