Is it because there's a few of them now that no one is willing to fight, listen, and learn from them?

If it's November, and basing from some of your responses, why is that it's not as celebrated like others?

I think it is all something everyone deserves. There should be an Asian history month because of the Asians who worked on the railroads in this country among other things, Native American history month because of how beautiful the culture is (and I'm proud to be the granddaughter of a beautiful Blackfoot woman) and the history behind the genocide, and Black history month because of their many, many struggles. Most of all I'd like these to be taught in our educational systems because too many people don't know the struggle these people went through or the facts. I mean people still respect Columbus for goodness sakes.
Someone said they'd rather have Native American history than black history. I'd rather have Native American history than Columbus day.

Its not scheduled on a calendar, but in 1990 President Bush approved a joint resolution designating November 1990 as "National American Indian Heritage Month", and basically the same proclamation has been issued every year since 1994.

There is tiny its November! perhaps enough people don't know about it... Judging from some of the ignorant answers you received they don't, so I guess it was a pretty good question.
Edit: In response to your revised question.. Native Americans represent something like 1 percent of the population, maybe it is because there are far fewer of them.. Secondly Native Americans tend to identify themselves more with their tribe/nation than as a block as African-American do.

There is, hon. It's in November.
And don't call them Indians. It's a very silly term. Columbus called them Indians because he thought that America was the east (India, China, etc.). What a moron.
And you asked why it isn't as celebrated. Well, blacks of the Civil Rights movement and their offspring have been known to take action when they want something done. If other cultures want their month to be recognized, they should work for it as blacks have done.

You should've researched before you asked this question. Native American History month is in November. When I was in school we celebrated Native American History Month and Black History month.

Native American - Indian heritage month is in November dumb a**. Why don't you try looking these things up first. There is also an Asian, Latino, etc. history month. Don't hate because others make no effort to celebrate their history month and Black people do.

Having a history month is an insult. If I we're Native American or Black or whatever, I would not need a month to validate my worthiness. We don't need any one to recognize our achievements they should stand on there own.

That's what Thanksgiving is for. It may have something to do with the extensive studies we do in Elementary school about Native Americans, but all in all I would rather have Native American History, than Black History.
