An interface between a device that utilizes that type of memory and the memory (data held in the memory). Currently there are 7 different types of portable memory that I know of (probably more cause I'm not that smart).

Any of these readers will work just fine: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductCompare.asp?Category=1&Nty=1&N=2010010069&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=69&CompareItemList=N82E16820609197%2CN82E16820609188%2CN82E16820308013%2CN82E16820308015%2CN82E16820163406%2CN82E16820223074%2CN82E16820223073%2CN82E16820192017%2CN82E16820308010%2CN82E16820106001%2CN82E16820401007 Just make sure that you get one that will read ALL available types. You never know when you'll need to read a type that your camera doesn't use; you also don't want to have to buy another one, just because you get a new camera, right?
