i have a aftermarket tachometer and the needle just recently started jumping a few hundred rpms does any body know why this is happening and how i can fix this

might be your timeing belt or brokeing Vac Line

Check all your connections to the tacho and the coil also any earth wires which feed the tacho as well as the supply

double check your connections on everything especially the signal from distributor or coil
