See a hypnotherapist or NIP practitioner. They will use a trauma extinction procedure.

I'm really sorry you found yourself in that situation. It must have been very frightening.

Try to see the situation as objectively as you can. Look at it for what it was: A stupid, insecure, weak foolish idiot who needed a weapon to make himself feel powerful. A nine year old could point a gun and get the same frightened reponse from anyone. This guy (I will assume guy) is simply a coward.

My suggestion would be to take an intensive self-defense class. Not only will this will strengthen your body, you will also gain awareness, prevention and risk avoidance skills/knowledge. You will walk away feeling much stronger and less afraid of all the cowards out there.

You will be fine.

Best wishes.

First of all, it's too soon to get over such a traumatic experience such as a robbery at gun point that just occured this Saturday! Take your time to express your feelings and fears while relaxing at the same time. Keep in mind positive (and realistic) thoughts, such as the fact that you're lucky to be alive. Try not to replay the scene over and over in your mind because that way you're just reliving the event and not getting over it.

All the best

Oh gosh, so much you can do, where to start. Give yourself permission to feel whatever feelings are going through you, work through that, and GET ANGRY!! Then do whatever you can think of to prosecute the punks. And if the police don't seem interested in finding the theives, BUG THEM until they get sick of you. Always always always, what helps me to not feel like a victim is to be proactive. You can also post whatever info you have/can remember about the cowards on free internet spots like www.craigslist.org, and www.kaboo.org.
