If exfoliating and using a thick lotion like a body butter doesn't help than I suggest something to fade them. Cocoa butter is said to fade discoloration of the skin, but not ver quickly. If you wan't faster results it'll cost you about $22 to buy a tube of mederma which really works. You can find this stuff anywhere, I know for a fact wal-mart carries it.

You need to:
-Moisturize your [dark area] skin a lot (aka lotion)
-Exfoliate your knees and elbows with a body scrub [at least 4 times a week]
-There are also products that micro-peel skin. Such as the micro-peeling cloth from Apiderm. Or, if you prefer a cream..theres the Enzymo-Spherides Peeling Cream by Pevonia Botanica.
-You might want to look up 'glutathione' it's a antioxidant that can also lighten your skin.

Lemon juice and plain yogurt work like natural bleach. Squeeze half a lemon in about 4 teaspoons of yogurt and apply on the dark areas atleast 2 mins before taking a shower. It takes a while, but u should start seeing results in a week or so... this is also the most inexpensive and easy way to get rid of dark skin. It is also safe to use on the face.

exfoliation is the key.. the dark spots might be due to a build up of dead skin cells, thus if you exfoliate on a regular basses with a loofah they should pretty much disappear.. good luck.

Rub half a lemon on them to bleach it out. Don't use if you have cuts though.
