Well though Dirk as a really good shot at becoming the leagues MVP that amazing passer from the Suns numbers are up. Proving how valuable his presence is on the court when he was injured because of his shoulder really will be put into consideration. But with Dirk being healthy all season and putting up good numbers just about every game will really make it difficult to see who will in it. The Mavs have the best record in the league, that is a plus for Dirk, another plus for Dirk is the fact that Nash has won the award two consecutive years and I am sure people are wanting a new face as the leagues MVP. Right now I think it's so close that my guess is 51% Dirk - 49% Nash. I guess it won't really be settle until the playoffs are underway and to see which player carries his team the best.

he has a great chance of winning this years MVP, and right now I'd pick him to be the MVP, cause last year Pistons were having exact same kind of record pace that Mavs r on right now, and they had 4 All-Stars, which is why none of them got much MVP votes, but usually when a team like the Mavs r this year who r on pace for like 71 wins and have a player who averages like 28 PPG and 10 RPG and is really there only true All Star on the team, he'd be everyone's pick for MVP right now, and since Nash was injured for a while it put him down a lil bit, but also since he was out for a few games team went like 1-4 without him, so he will get some votes but Dirk Nowitzki should be MVP and probably will get it

Yes he's the best player playing on the best team. His numbers have been solid this year, 25.4 PPG, 9.6 rebounds. He's shooting 42.9% from 3-point range. But to truly understand what he's capable of you have to watch him. He seems capable of making the shot from anywhere on the floor. His turn around jumpers are breathtaking, and seem to always go in. Shooting off balance seems irrelevant to him, as does his defender.
The Mavericks are playing terrific basketball their only the 2nd team in NBA history to put together a stretch winning 50 of 55, only the 96-97 Bulls have done that.
Steve Nash is a perennial candidate, but after winning two straight years, I imagine the voters are getting Nash fatigue. Plus, the Mavs did take the Suns in the west's finals last year.

I think he has a really good shot at it. Since the All-Star break he has averaged 5-7 more ppg, and 2-3 more rpg. Being a Mavs fan I hope he finally gets recognized as an MVP!
GO MAVS!!
