Study, study study, and lots of experience with problems that happen with puters.
The more you study, the better you will be, but, when you start running into problems with your puter, and you are able to fix those problems from your own knowledge base, you will almost be an expert. what makes a true expert is the willingness to continue to work to solve a problem after you reach the frustration point, and still haven't thrown a wrench through the monitor.

Study, go and take some classes, play around with your computer, look at forums on the internet and talk to people. Never be afraid to admit that you don't know something about computers because there is way too much to know about them for anybody to know, ask for help and be sure to always have good reliable backups in case you make a mistake with something and it crashes.

First take some classes then read up on everything you can get your hands on related to computers. Magazines are a great source.
