I support equality and with this I have the equality bumper sticker on the car. He said that people get the wrong impression. Is this true? Do people think I am gay or a supporter of equal rights? I don't care either way. I'm just fed up with his teasing me because I think everyone should have equal rights. We are all human after all. We bleed, we feel, we need to be treated equally. If I have friends who want to get married, they should be allowed to do so.

Sorry bout the rambling. I am just kind of ticked off right now. Have a great day everyone.

So, if you saw someone driving with the sticker would you assume they were gay? I was going for the whole "supporting" thing. I think it's wrong that people are abused verbally and physically for something like this. I'm sorry on behalf of mean people in the world. :(

I agree with you! I would sport the bumper sticker and I am straight! Who cares if people think you are gay! I have a best friend and she is gay and we go out all the time and people assume I am gay because I am with her. I frankly could care less! I did get a great laugh at it when her car door broke and you could only open it from the inside. She walked around to the passengers side and unlocked the doors, it looked like she was opening the door for me LOL! I also agree that marriage should be legal for everyone as well I have often told her I would be her "best woman" in her wedding when that day gets here! Bottom line, sport the sticker with pride!!!!

Though the HRC is Gay oriented, their work really goes beyond that. It is about HUMAN Rights. Equal rights. Your boyfriend doesn't understand that, and probably never will.

Keep the sticker. And continue to defend YOUR rights. With or without that boyfriend.

If one thing I’ve learned in life is you can never have too much information and the more you plan the more likely you are to succeed. There is always an option but most of the time people rather recite what they hear rather than try to figure out why they think that way. If you take a differing belief as an attack on what you believe you are scared that you may be wrong.

I have to admit if I saw a man driving around with the Equal Signs I'd assume he was gay, but if I made a pass at him and he corrected me I wouldn't be offended. I think it's very noble of you.

He's probably concerned that you will get bashed for having a contoversial sticker on your car. You really should ask him whyhe has a problem rather than airing your relationship's dirty laundry on yahoo answers.

He's probably just uncomfortable with the idea of someone being gay, so he doesn't support that you support us (us as in us gays). Why don't you introduce him to someone gay who isn't obviously gay and after he gets to know them for a while and becomes friends with them, have them come out to him. He probably will realize gays aren't evil. xD

I always thought it meant the driver was homosexual. Almost all of my wifes and my friends are homosexual or bi-sexual, and a lot of them have the sticker, so I thought that's what it meant. You should keep it if you believe in it.

It's not cool if people are making fun of you. What is cool is that you're standing up for your personal beliefs. If you are a homosexual, fine. If not, that's fine too. If your b/f doesn't trust you, you have to deal w/that in your own way and in your own time. Hope this helps.
