Have you ever seen Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind? It's a REALLY great show, and a really great place for a date. I lived in Chicago for 15 years, and I went to see the show probably 6 times a year. It is more fun than you can imagine. Very gay-friendly. Half the cast is often gay (the cast rotates from month to month) I believe the theater is still up on Foster and Ashland, in Andersonville. Go! It's so much fun! Report back!

Also: The Field Museum. Take a Saturday and go to the Field Museum. And/or the Planetarium. It's really cool. At least, it is for nerds like me.

The Art Institute. They have some of the most famous paintings in the world there. Plan a Sunday. Go in the spring when it's warm (which means, usually, May in Chicago) Pack a picnic to eat in Grant Park before/after the museum.

Find a quiet spot, go for a walk, spring a cheese and nice wine grapes and a crusty sour dough bread from the back pack, spread a big cloth on the ground TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES,and after you snack a little read aloud from a beautiful book. Then when you find the best page take the flower that was in with the snacks press it in the book, write what this day meant to you in the front. Then pack up and go home. At the door (if you don't live together) give the book as a gift. OR find a big barn with a tin roof and get permission to use it. Surprise your date the next time it rains and just say come on I have a surprise. When you get there climb up in the hay loft, where you have already set up the cheese, grapes, bread and wine. You can get battery operated candles that you can't tell the difference. Feed Your Partner until the rain is coming down and make love to the rhythm of the rain. IT"S MAGIC. GOOD LUCK

Im assuming you know this person so figure out a way to plan an entire day based on their intrests. If your partner is into art take them to a new exhibit. Sports Fan go out to a game. Show some appreciation for their hobbies and im sure it will be very moving to them.

Well, i once had a date find out a band i liked (which at the time was Brand New.) and they happened to be in town that week so we went to their concert, but since it probably won't turn out your date's favorite band happens to be in town soon i recomend either a concert of any kind (just because it's a fun atmosphere and music makes people happy.) or like a board game night or something :]
hope it helps.
