Was the second question a contradiction or am I just getting tired? "I will do anything to achieve great things in life BUT (hello?)I'm lazy..." bla blah blah. So! You will NOT to anything. Right? So, all I can assume from this is that you don't "really" want to achieve great things in life, because being lazy & not feeling like working takes priority. If you ask advice about motivation & determination, I really doubt achievement is very important to you.
& no one said it had to be. If you're basically content with who you are, then just go for it! What's the problem? Your stated "behaviour" suggests to me that you haven't really got any great passion. So? Relax & enjoy. No one here can REALLY tell you how to gear up your life!

is your name Bush? do you currently have a 'government job', by Great Things, do you mean personal fulfillment?, or Historical Recognition? Financial security? Some of you people are'nt right in the head. Get an Education, Get a Job, Get a Life. by your question, you have already achieved the highest level you will ever reach.

well, I am 20 and will be 21 next month, right outta high school I went to college, I am thru 2 years of college right now getting all my prereq's done... I am only 20 and I am going to school to become a surgeon... well a neonatal surgeon.... I got 2 years down and 7 more to go.... I DON'T KNOW if I will pull the whole thing off, but I will try... I live my life mostly going to school and working part time... I know that I am missing out on alot of things... alot of things that other girls my age are doing... and having fun at it too.... but I remind myself that in order to be what I want and to achieve my goals I have to make sacrifices... I remind myself that things don't come handed on silver platters and if I want whats best for me, my future husband and my future children, I will maintain my motivation...

It all depends on you and what strategy you have....
You make the decisions in your life, and if what you want to do or think of doing is real important to you.... GO FOR IT ALL THE WAY..... because even if you don't succeed you will have learned alot that you may apply to other things...

Be true to yourself and your goals.... and remember GO FOR IT!!
Hope all goes well...
Take Care & God Bless

what is your defintion of 'great things' and 'working hard'?

I think that first you need to figure out what success means to you and then describe what it is you wan to achieve...then, you can look at how you feel about actually obtaining those things and the things that hold you back. How are you lazy?

i think you are just fine. you don't sound miserable and depressed. sound you get high getting high as jerry jeff walker sang a few years ago. play a guitar and as long as you can support yourself and get healthcare and have a few pretty good friends, well, you are way better off than most of us. making a mark is an interesting subject but if you aren't really driven (kinda crazy) to change the world so what? ilike the way you sound. good luck and enjoy.

I understand completely.

Get arrested for something fairly minor, offer no defence, and spend a couple of months in prison.

If that doesn't gear you up, realistically you have to resign yourself to the humdrum existence -- and thankgod it isn't any worse -- that most of us have.

You are misusing your abilities. You have used your energy to write this question. Just change your mindset and use your energy more wisely.

You have the power to make changes. You have more control that you can imagine.

well if you convince yourself that sitting at home all day watching TV while other morons work their *** off is a great thing, then you don't need motivation.
