It will not explode but may cause your card not to power up and like already said can cause serious damage to your other components. IMO, upgrade your PSU, it will save you money and alot of headaches.

To the guy up there saying three's nothing higher then a 420W PSU.... I got a 1000W PSU to power up my custom built PC. http://www.bfgtech.com/power_supply_1000W.html

Explode as in the computer blowing up like a bomb?

Not going to happen.

The PSU might give up and die.

The Graphics Card might carc it.

But it shouldnt explode.

The absolute worst it could do is cause a fire - but it'd more likely just not have enough power and not start up or shut down immediatly or something.

Well I've never seen a graphics card require that much but my card is overpowering me by 50 watts so she'll shut down on me alot, but it's highly reccomended you put another power supply in or your computer will not boot, or crash randomly/during more demanding tasks, it's rare a computer will just slow down because it either crashes or won't boot.

perhaps it will explode, ive had many a graphics card explode in my face during my time.

haha, just kidding, uhm, if you dont have enough watts from your power, then it just might not fully function, if it does at all, might get a little choppy, might get a warning, but i wouldnt worry about having any type of electrical short if your powersupply is weaker than suggested, i would however get a better power supply anyways, youll need it sooner or later

I have had this happen to me just recently so I know what will happen your computer will not blow up what will happen is that your mother board or your graphics card either one will not turn on either causing your computer to short out which is very unlikely but what is very likely is just that your computer won't turn on or atleast your monitor won't

Low current supplied to electronic devices may cause them to operate improperly and may also cause damage to them. A fairly good PS can be had at Newegg.com for under $50.

your computer will not esplode. it will have many problems running though. it will probably restart it self alout due to lack of power, if your going to spend money on a fideo card then get a new power supply too.

your computer will either not boot (due to lack of power to other devices) or run very slowly.

PCs only 'explode' when you over-clock the components and they over-heat.

Your computer will do all sorts of crazy things, but not explode.
