I bought some gifts (2 portables radios for small girls and the radio require batteries. Which I didn't buy but was told it was good courtesy. I never thought about that, but should a person buy batteries along with a gift that require batteries?

Yes. It would be disappointing to open a gift that one could not immediately play with. You would win huge points with the little girls and the parents if you were to extend this courtesy.

I feel that batteries should always be included with the gift.
