Only use cash to pay for inexpensive items. M&Ms is not a major purchase. No one should wait to be approved for a bag of chips. No one should have to pay 5% interest on tic tacs.

I would use Cash, or it would be a debit card, I guess, but those are too confusing to keep track of. So, I usually buy enough stuff to make it $15 and use my credit card. Besides I always , buy a carton of cigarettes.

Yep. I don't spend as much money that way actually. The alternative would be getting $20 out of the ATM when I need to buy a gallon of milk. When I do that the rest of the cash goes pretty quick.

Yeah, sometimes when I am short of cash. I live a ways from an ATM and the bank, so unless I remember to take cash from the house, I will use the card to buy something like you describe.

I've used it to pay for something that cost $1.00 before. I never carry cash on me. Most of the times if I just need something inexpensive, I will find a few more things just to bring the total up a little bit.

No, I don't because that is a waste of money. Think of of the rates you will be paying off the credit card by charging it for something under $10.

OMG!!! You sound just like me, I never have cash on me and sometimes I'll just go in to buy a pack of smokes and end up buying more so I don't look totally stupid! What a hoot!

hahaha yeah, I used my debit card for a 29 cent purchase...I cleaned out my purse, and forgot my change. My credit union does not have limitations or fees on debit purchases. I use that to my advantage..wink wink

Absolutely. The only places I DON'T use debit are places that don't accept it, like Tim Hortons or if I have to take a cab.

Usually cash is the best to use, especially if you aren't very good at paying off your credit card bills in a timely manner.
