i am a guy and back in grade 5 when my lips went dry i put vasline on them like 4 years ago and what would happen was it wwould turn my lips bright red like lipstick red for atleast a week and i get picked on. but they were real red and i found out later tha it was the vasline or i still think it was that. my sister after all these years wants to know what it was and i told her and she used vasline but dont work maybe cause the ones 5 years ago were cheaper kind with differnt ingredients nwo tehy have emm more enhanced and they dont even work on me my sister made me put emm on. so is there aythin else she can puit on ause she dont like lip stick or gloss. she jus want it to be red under the skin and she botehing me too much to figure out what happpen to me. i dont know what to tell her so any 1 know what happen to me in grade 5 and y not now and is tere anotehr product perhaps a replacment to my vasaline trick to make lips bright red underneath the skin. or was i jus too young then?

You had an allergic reaction to the Vaseline and she doesn't. Tell her to use lipstick.

Sounds more like you had sensitive skin and were experiencing an allergic reaction. However, tell your sister that there are two awesome products out there now. One product is called stain. It gives your lips a natural looking red color without a sticky or glossy feeling. Another thing to try is pigment. If all else fails she can go for the permanent tattoo's that are now so popular but extremely painful.

Sorry, I'm a guy but I felt compelled to respond due to reasons beyond my control (severe alcoholism). Anyway, sounds like a bad reaction to vaseline on your end.
Also, good god... are you American? Damn, no wonder other nations think we're a bunch of morons, the schools must suck here worse than ever. What are you in 9th, 10th grade now and your spelling and grammar is no better than that? Ah, one of our future leaders; I weep for us all...

Why doesn't she just buy lip stainer? It liquid-y and it rolls on and dries in so that you can't rub it off, and it's not sticky like glosses and lipstick. it's the same price and less messy than vaseline. I don't know what happened with ur lil event in fifth grade, but yeah.. try lip stainer.

Tell her to try cherry Kool-Aid...It should give her lips a semi-permanent stain and apply gloss on top. Add a little water to it and apply with a Q-tip. Good luck!

i really dont know why should would want that but thats usually from the dryness.. your lips are sooo chafed that they are almost to the point of bleeding... thats why they are red.. but when you point things like vaseline it basically just makes it more visible instead of just the white crust layer from the dryness and flakiness...

you probably was alergic to it, if your sister wants red lips without using lip stick she should drink cherry cool aid and her lips will be red. good luck kid!
