I agree. Darker colored people aren't black... they are just a different shade of brown. (White people aren't really white, they are more of a light tan, peach, pink... not really white at all.)
"Black" and "White" are just social constructs.

Black is just a word that means very dark. Black, dark brown, it doesn't matter. White is certainly not white, it is tan, or flesh colored. No problem. The problem is not the word we use to describe people, but the attitude we have toward them, specifically superiority. This has always been an issue with the human heart. All people have the tendency to look down on others for whatever reason we might find. This is never solved until we are born again through faith in Jesus. Then as we read and believe the Word, we realize that all men are created equal.

In the days of beginning slavery, the Moors would round up the villagers from different African villages. Some of them were very dark skinned and to the Caucasian person they looked black. We all know now that Black is just a color used to designate the *******, White is used to describe the Caucasoid and Yellow is used to describe the Mongoloid. None of the designated colors apply to the real skin tones of the humanoids who exist.

I don't like it, and I don't understand it. I have seen true black skinned African people, and they are a long way off in skin color than the light brown people we see here. Why don't we all just refer to each other as friends or neighbors? suits me. Best wishes

I think black tends to refer to a race rather than a skin color....but again I have a hard time understanding what a race is at all...
but anyways I am black...i.e racially and I have indian friends I have lighter skin than the indian guys who happen to have a much darker skin..but I am black and they are white.....I think it is a retarded society mentality

Actually I would be offended if someone called me brown. I'm a black man and I prefer if it's just stated that way. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I don't call them black I have always considered them coloured.they put themselves down if there not the right shade i know this for a fact. They were trained to be like that by there slave masters to keep them angry and resentful towards each other and not there masters. and it has been passed down a few generations to this generation.
we natives call whites pale face.

Blacks doesn't necessarily mean "black", it's just a term people used to differentiate. Same as "white" or "yellow" people. Just don't take it seriously.
