Mackenzie would be my first choice for a girl. Ami would be the choice for a boy. Ami is not pronounced like "Amy" for a girl. I was thinking of saying it like "Mommy" without the M.

I think both names are cool. In this day and age you can name your child what you like, more or less. Who"s to judge.

I like Mackenzie but hate Ami. Think twice before giving that name to a boy.

I like Mackenzie for the girl, but I am not sure about Ami for the boy. I would be concerned about people not pronouncing it right. And take it from me, it is such a pain having to pronounce your name for everyone all of the time. My mom named me Aymee and it is pronounced like Amy but you wouldn't believe how many people want to pronounce it differently just because it is spelled differently. Good luck! :)

Mackenzie is a nice name for a girl, but Ami for a boy is a bit strange.

Mackenzie is ok for a girl, but I prefer a more feminine version like Mackenna or Mackayla.

Have to say no on Ami for a boy.

Mackenzie for a girl is beautiful, But Ami for a boy, no matter how it is pronounced, that poor little boy will need to learn how to fight, because he would be beat up all the time. All I could say is "Poor kid"

sorry, i hate the name Mackenzie... its way too common and not traditional enough for me... and Ami... well no... I knew how to pronounce it when i read it, but only after i read "for a boy" he's going to have people calling him AMY all the time, and he will probably get very annoyed when that happens...

My sister's name is MacKenzie and we call her Mac now that she is older and is somewhat of a tom-boy. I helped pick out her name so I really like it....Now, I dont' like Ami for a boy at all I think he might get made fun of when he starts school. Kids can be very mean.

I've never met a boy named MacKenzie, but I know several girls with that name...it is just fine. On the other I've never met a boy named Ami...and I don't think it would be appropriate. They are both girl names to me.

just looking at Ami, people wont know its not said like Amy and he will get called that all the time. spell it like Omi or something if thats how you want it said or your kid would be teased. I dont like MacKenzie for a girl though. never liked the name...sorry.
