We have a science project, an educational video, in physics. My topic is about light. Do you have any ideas or suggestions on how i can present and explain light and its concepts as a fun topic?

Put different colors of clear plastic over the lens of a flashlight and show what the light looks like. Shine it on colored objects and show how the color we see changes.

Shine a light through a prism to separate it into the colors of the rainbow.

Use a clear CD (like from the bottom of the CD package or one you removed the colored layer from). Use this to let people take turns looking at the room lights and seeing the rainbow of colors.

Use some of the following tools:

1. prisms
2. monochromators
3. color filters
4. If non-visible light is usable, look at an infrared remote control with a video camera. The CCD in the camera can detect near-infrared light (that cannot be detected with the unaided eye) and display it on the view screen.
5. Use dye that flouresces only when UV light is applied to it (requires UV lamp).
6. Solar power gadgets demonstrate conversion of photons into electrons (get a cool gadget).

Need some others?

Well, there are all kinds of light! Different objects will absorb and reflect different spectrums of light, thus giving different colors. You could go into that. Or you could do a specific kind, such as Infrared light. This is used in computer technologies to beam information from computer to computer, and is also used as a heat indicator for seeing at night. You could go into the different frequencies or wevelengths of different types of light too.

My opinion:
you can start by introduce the discovery of light from sun build up from seven colours and by rotating a wheel made up of seven colours you will get white light, how light came from or made from? You can move in deeper by light is actually one of an electromagnetic waves in electromagnetic spectrum and state its range of wavelength and frequency. Next you can play around some experiment for example diffration, superposition and more to exhibit the characteristic of light, also the relationship of speed = wavelength * frequency, states that the speed of light is constant. Move in deeper you can include the unit candela(Cd), the light intensity, wave-particle duality, that is light can exhibit waves amd particle properties. Light have momentum, energy.
Additional: Advantage of light, important in photosynthesis, for us, object viewing(imagine if we live without light), light as indicator(eg: traffic light, brake light, signal), light carries heat(without sun we will freeze).
This is what i can think, sort out the information and you can add what you have.
