Convergent plate boundaries are where two plates come together. These boundaries produce volcanoes because one plate is forced under another. The plate being forced under remelts to form more magma. This magma begins to rise due to convection currents. The rising magma seeps through cracks and works its way to the surface to form volcanoes.
