THESE ARE THE INSTITUTIONS PROMOTING HOMOPHOBIA
1. Religion: religion specifically CATHOLICISM promotes homophobia. The church concerns what for them is right or wrong. for the church, homosexuality is equal to immorality.
2. Family: Patriarchal families, families locked on traditions that MAN does that and Woman does this... AND IF you try to do things other than what is expected of you... your cursed.... as a child, we play on toys which is according to the parents "appropriate" for our gender Toy guns, robots, etc for boys and dolls, playhouses, etc for women...
3. School (related with family)
As we continue to live with what the tradition, religion tells... there will be homophobia
SO MUCH HOMOPHOBIA...?
well not really... the world is starting to accept... and you see i guess there is this silent acceptance already... though not totally

Why is there so much homophobia in society today?
-There is? I have a Aunt that is a so called homosexual that she claims to be. I don't hate her or anything, but I just think that the thing she is doing is wrong, very wrong. I could ask all the questions in the world to people in many different ways that why do people think being Homosexual is normal and good, but I never understand the answers because they just makes no sence to me. I could argure and nag and hate, but theres no point to it, I just try to state the facts as I see it as others that think like me.
Oh and I also never understand the reason why some people in general don't understand that there are men and women and when they get together a baby is born and that baby that I'm talking about is you, not the one that you don't want to have. What I'm trying to say is that if your parents thought the same way as you do and I mean the exact same, then you people would have never been born because your parents would have chosen "a career, with a married man and woman" or to be with the same instead of the opposite that can have kids which IS you.
I just want YOU to have kids, so that your kids, kids can have grand-kids of theirs. The way I see it, not wanting to have kids, (your own kids) is the ultimate sign of pride and arrogance, because you only think or yourself right here and now instead of your future which are your kids. You just think that the universe was created when you were born and it will end when you die, well it won't, your kids will be here, or atlease other peoples future kids like mine will be here.

It all stems to the religuous morals that have been injected into "normal societal values" for years. Since religion thinks homosexuality is immoral, they inject this morality onto society and society always seems to follow the religious ideals like lambs to the slaughter. Homophobia is far less than it was a few decades ago, but we still have along way to go before society stops condeming a popuation simply because they are different or believe in a different way.

Because some people have a very hateful side.
Remember the '50s and '60s? The screaming frenzied mobs of white people attacking the black kids in Little Rock?
Those people havent gone away. Now its become unacceptable in society to treat black people like ****, but its still more or less accepted to be homophobic so thats where they concentrate their hate. All the reasons they give are just bullsh*t excuses to justify their irrational hatred.
Another reason is fear of the unknown. Some people dont understand the gays, and so they automatically fear them. And fear of the unknown in many people unfortunately leads to hate of the unknown.

Straight male homophobes are afraid that if a gay man seduces him successfully that he will enjoy the experience. Which is sad.
Straight female homophobes are afraid that a gay man will 'steal' her boyfriend away and 'turn' him gay. Which is ridiculous.
Homophobia is based on these two neurotic fears.
