all are good
India have everything and more
The team of 2007 is very steady.
Factors helping India -
The best indian team going for the World Cup after the 1983 Presidential Cup. India has found good openers in Ganguly and Uthappa, with Sehwag in there too. Yuvraj, Dravid, Dhoni and Tendulkar steady the middle order to form one of the best middle order batting. Lower middle order of Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer can hit a few runs too.
As on bowling - Zaheer and Sreesanth/Munaf Patel will be opening and are not as bad. Kumble, Harbhajan and Sachin - Sehwag can bowl many spin overs between them. That leaves one guy extra. He can be employed as a strike bowler - Irfan/Sreesanth or Dinesh Kaarthick as the 11th guy. Irfan can bat as well.
It is a very powerful batting line-up, and make take a beating on their bowling lineup.
Quality Fielders are in plenty - Yuvraj, Uthappa, Sachin, Kaarthick. Fielders like Munaf Patel will have to be hided on the field.
There are all winning chances for India. India will reach the semi-finals for sure.
India have enjoyed a great run in previous world cups as well.
In 1979 we were almost through to semis. In 1983 we won the cup. In 1987 we were in the semis. In 1996 we were in semis (because of indian crowd, match given to Sri Lankans). In 1999 we beat Pakistan (who earlier beat Australia). Then in 2003 we reached the finals.
Somethings which India need to work on to improve for the World Cup 2007 in the Caribbean -
Every Indian Player Has To Think About The Country Not Individual.
Play As A Team
Making of Master Game plan before every match
Play Mind games With Every Team
Good Net Practice Before Every Match
Relaxation Techniques
Good Fielding
Players Should Be Absolutely Fit Before Every Match

Indian's prepared well for this world cup under coach Greg Chappel. In last world cup India lost to Australia in final. This time our team has extra batsman and bowlers to secure the final match (if we reach in finals).
As we talk about batting possibilities :Sourav,Sachin,Dravid,Shewag,Yuvraj,Dhoni,Pathan,Uttappa,Agarkar and Harbhajan all can bat well. And in bowling Harbhajan,Agarkar,Sreesanth,Munaf,Pathan,Kumble and Zaheer Khan all are front line bowlers along with Shewag,Sachin and Sourav second option bowling.
Its seems this time Indian chances are bright than world cup 2003, rest time will tell how we deliver when it required. On papers we are strong enough to beat any team in the world cup.
Semi finals and final are two level stage where luck factor is equallly important with hard work. All the best India !!!!!

They are a team with such an amazing cricket history, they need to get it together and start being the Indian team they always were. But still I don't think they can get passed South Africa and Australia.

Yes, they do.
They have a strong and experienced batting lineup. Most of their batsman have scored centuries and have healthy averages and strike rates.
They have a wicketkeeper who bats like his life depends on it.
they bat all the way down to number 9.
They have balanced pace attack in Zaheer, Pathan, Sreesanth, Agarkar and Munaf.
Two quality spinners in kumble and harbhajan. (ideal for pitches in west indies).
they are a good fielding unit and are very fit.
six of the current squad played in the 2003 world cup final. I dont think any of that six wants to lose again.
It remains to be seen if they can play good, consistent cricket for two months. I reckon they will make it to semis- particularly because of their record against Pak, NZ, Eng, SL, WI. At the semifinals , it is anybodys ball game.

nicely chum,i don't be attentive to what you propose by potential of India continuously dropping the international cup.to your suggestions India has gained the international cup in 1983.additionally India have been runners up interior the international cup of 2003.as nicely India entered the semifinals of the international cups of 1987 and 1996.not that undesirable an fulfillment, being semi finalists or above on 4 activities out of a complete of basically 9 international cups of cricket held up till now.in all probability you like your cricket group or your united states of america too lots and choose it to win each time.it extremely is extra easy stated than finished.Even Australia who little question are a extra healthful and a extra advantageous group isn't waiting to try this.you're able to desire to undergo in suggestions that cricket is after all a game basically and win or loss is a controversy of danger.extra so in one day cricket, win or loss relies upon on that distinctive days overall performance on my own.you will do nicely to delight in in this context that such as you have got a bad day in place of work or college, further your cricketers too could have such undesirable days.undergo in suggestions that your cricketers too are human.
